Q&A Tuesday : What is doubt’s purpose?
September 28, 2023Q&A Tuesday : What is polarity ?

Polarity is a fascinating phenomenon in our lives. We often spend a significant amount of time trying to embody qualities like strength, honesty, goodness, and health, striving to stay firmly on one side.
Let me explain this visually:
Imagine yellow balls represent the parts of you that you want everyone to see—your strengths, honesty, and goodness. Now, picture red balls as the aspects you push down and hide, hoping no one will notice. But, at the most inconvenient times, these red balls can unexpectedly surface, leading to emotional explosions.
Here’s the key: we’ve been taught to label things as right or wrong, positive or negative. We go about judging traits like being strong as positive and being deceptive as negative. However, the irony lies in the fact that we all have these different parts within us, and each serves a purpose.
I recently had an incredible session with a woman who cherished honesty but despised deception. As empaths, we often grow up attuned to others’ feelings and learn to prioritise them over our own. Sometimes, we even disconnect from our own emotions, leading to the common pattern of people-pleasing.
So, our minds may tell us, “I want to be honest, and I don’t want to be deceptive.” But what if both parts have a purpose? When we suppress certain aspects of ourselves and fail to see their purpose, we become less adept at accurately reading situations.
Let’s consider a less charged example: the desire to be strong. We keep striving to become stronger while ignoring our feelings of weakness. However, when we acknowledge and accept our moments of weakness, we can also acknowledge the need for rest, recovery, and self-care, ultimately leading to greater overall health.
Now, what could be the purpose of the deceptive part? Imagine being in a situation where someone is deceiving you right to your face. If you suppress this part, you might react impulsively rather than responding effectively. Your deceptive part might be there to alert you to red flags when someone’s words and actions don’t align.
Many of us value honesty, but it might be time to acknowledge the deceptive part within you and explore where you might be unintentionally deceiving yourself or others. It’s a challenging exercise, but it’s worth it.
So, put on your metaphorical big girl panties, summon your courage, and dive in. You’ll be amazed at what you discover. And if it feels too daunting, remember, you don’t have to do it alone. Reach out, and I can assist you in cracking your own inner code and help you prioritise yourself and your passions as well as love and support others. This is one of my favourite tools as people have such breakthroughs and it’s so amazing to witness.
Stay Warm and keep discovering the magic that makes you, you!
