Not Letting Go, But Letting It Be: Embracing Our Shadows to Find the Truth

Understanding Channelling: What Happens When Someone Channels Another Person
October 28, 2024
What if the Answer Was the Exact Opposite of What You Think?

Imagine this: your whole life, you’ve been searching for answers, trying to fix the problems that keep showing up. You think if you just work harder, find the right solution, or be a little better, you’ll unlock the key to success. But what if the real solution isn’t what you’ve been taught? What if, instead of fighting against it, the answer is to lean into the very thing you’ve been avoiding?

Sounds crazy, right?

You’ve been searching for truth, clarity, a way out of the struggle. But what if the real truth is in embracing the part of you that deceives? That part of you that feels a little messy, a little uncertain—the part that hides your vulnerability. You’ve been trying to push it away, but what if loving that part of you is exactly what you need to do? Not to get rid of it, but to understand it, hold it with compassion, and see that it’s been trying to protect you this whole time, even though it no longer serves you.

Or let’s talk about doubt. We’re told that doubt is our enemy, that we need to be certain, confident, always sure of ourselves. But what if, instead of avoiding doubt, you embraced it? You’ve been running from it, right? Chasing certainty like it’s the holy grail. But what if doubt is your guide? What if it’s there to show you where to slow down, where to question, where to grow? When you love your doubt, you open the door to possibility, curiosity, and growth.

And here’s the big one—the fear of not being loved. We spend our lives searching for love, for validation, thinking that love is out there, somewhere waiting for us. But what if the answer is to love the part of you that feels unlovable? The part that’s been hurt, that feels not enough. It’s scary, right? To think that the thing you fear the most is the very thing you need to embrace. But this is where true healing happens.

Here’s the truth: what we suppress always comes back.

We don’t keep attracting the same situations because life is punishing us. We keep attracting them because those parts of us—the parts we hide, the parts we don’t want to see—are calling out to be healed. When you bury your doubt, your fear, or your pain, it doesn’t go away. It lingers. It creates stress, anxiety, and resistance. The more you push it down, the louder it becomes, until it shows up in your life in ways you can’t ignore.

Picture this: Imagine you’ve got red balls and yellow balls floating on the surface of your life. The yellow balls are all the things you’re comfortable with—the parts of yourself you’ve accepted. The red balls? They’re the doubts, the fears, the parts of you that you’re afraid someone might see. So, you push them down, hoping they’ll disappear. But they don’t. The more you push, the more they fight their way back up to the surface.

What if, instead of fighting them, you let them rise? What if you just allowed them to float, looked at those red balls—the parts of you that feel unworthy, unloved, or full of doubt—and said, “I see you. I accept you.”?

And then something magical happens. The stress begins to fade. The tension melts away. Suddenly, there’s space—space for presence, for love, for healing. You’re no longer at war with yourself. Instead, you’re embracing all parts of who you are, without judgment.

Here’s the real twist: this is your freedom. The very thing you’ve been running from is the thing that will set you free.

So, the next time you catch yourself fighting your doubt, your fear, or your pain, ask yourself: What if the answer isn’t in pushing it away, but in loving it?
