Intuition, Wisdom, and the Power of Processing Over Programming
The Moment That Changed Everything: Discovering the Power of Intuition

There are moments in life that shake you to your core, leaving an imprint so deep it shapes the way you see the world. For me, one of those moments happened after a hockey game—an event that introduced me to the power of intuition, though at the time, I didn’t fully understand it and wouldn’t have even called it that.

It was after an end-of-season fines game. We were all quite intoxicated, celebrating the highs and lows of the season. But as the night wore on, something sobered me up quickly. A sense of paranoia washed over me, a sudden urge to ensure everyone got home safely. I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was about to go wrong.

I acted on this feeling, reaching out to my teammates’ brothers and boyfriends, making sure everyone was accounted for and had a safe ride home. I even called my own boyfriend to pick up my friend Nats and me. As we were leaving, I handed Sally’s keys to our hockey manager, Tracey, and told her not to let Sally drive because her boyfriend was on his way to get her.

The next morning, I received the call that would change everything: Tracey had been in a car accident and died. She hadn’t been drinking, she wasn’t even supposed to be there that night. She had just popped in later to check on us, as she always did. Tracey was the one who always looked after all of us, and now she was gone.

You never really understand the impact of someone dying, especially when you had a sense it was going to happen. At the time, I was young and didn’t grasp the full meaning of what had occurred. I didn’t understand intuition or the power of premonition or imprinting/programming. I didn’t realize that we can sometimes see the future, and how terrifying that can be when we feel powerless to change it.

Intuition, as I’ve come to learn, is just insight. It’s a glimpse into something deeper, a nudge from the universe. But insight alone isn’t enough—it’s how we discern the truth of that insight that turns it into wisdom. At the time, I reacted to the intuition I felt, and though my instincts were right, I didn’t know how to process or understand what I was experiencing. This moment can take you in two directions: you either process it, learn from it, and move on, or you let it become programmed into you, creating a compounding effect. I didn’t know how to separate the fear from the truth or how to act in a way that aligned with a deeper understanding.

Turning Insight into Wisdom: The Role of a Coach

Today, as a coach, I guide people to trust themselves by helping them understand their own intuition and wisdom. I’ve realized that intuition is a powerful tool we all have, but it’s not just about listening to it—it’s about understanding it. It’s about learning to process the insights we receive without letting them turn into unconscious programming that creates fear, anxiety, or repeated patterns.

This is key: learning to process, not program. When we don’t take the time to process our intuitive insights, they can solidify into patterns of fear or anxiety that influence our actions in ways we don’t even realize. But when we take the time to discern, to really understand what our intuition is telling us, we can transform those insights into wisdom that guides us, rather than letting them become fears that limit us.

In the aftermath of that experience with Tracey, I became terrified of my intuition, of seeing forward. I was scared because I couldn’t change what I had seen. This fear and anxiety became a part of me, an unconscious programming that I carried with me for years. It wasn’t until much later that I began to unearth the lessons in that experience, to understand that intuition is not something to fear, but a powerful tool that, when understood and respected, can guide us in profound ways.

This is the journey I now help others navigate. I teach people how to trust themselves by listening to their intuition, how to discern the truth of their insights, and how to turn those insights into wisdom that empowers them. I also help them process their experiences, preventing reprogramming. Through this, we learn not to react, but to respond, grow, and thrive, using our wisdom as a guide to live more intentional, fulfilled lives.
