Manifesting Questions Part 1

Why Would I Secretly Enjoy Not Having What I Say I Want?

It’s a strange question at first glance.

What if the thing blocking your manifestation… is the part of you that secretly feels safer without it?

I didn’t expect that answer either. But when I asked myself, “Why do I enjoy not having the things I say I want?”—something cracked open.

The answer that came up wasn’t logical. It was somatic. Primal. Rageful.
But when I asked it—really asked it—something cracked open inside me.

The answer wasn’t intellectual.
It was deep, cellular, ancient.

Because then it can’t be taken away.
Because then I won’t be seen as pretentious like those who hurt me.

There it was:
The hidden safety in staying small.
The false protection in invisibility.

I wasn’t resisting abundance because I didn’t want it.
I was resisting it because I once associated having with danger, betrayal, and judgment.

The Integration: When Kind Met Pretentious

As I sank deeper into the conversation with myself, two parts emerged:

  • Kind — the part of me who loves genuine connection, who values softness and realness.
  • Pretentious — the part that terrified me; the part I thought would make me like those who had hurt me.

But when I listened without judgment, I saw something new.

Pretentious wasn’t here to harm.
She was here to express.
She longed to be seen and feel safe.

When I honored her, the old charge dissolved.

I realized:

I can love beauty.
I can have beautiful things.
Not to impress—but because they nourish me.

I don’t have to shrink.
I don’t have to apologise for wanting.
And I don’t have to become anyone else to receive.

A New Truth:

Having isn’t dangerous.
Beauty isn’t betrayal.
Being seen doesn’t make me bad.

It just makes me me.

And from this place, true manifestation can finally begin.

Stay with me. This is a 5-part journey.
